What's New in TheFoodFind 2.1

New in 2.1: find restaurants around you, share Gold Verdict Cards for a dish or a whole visit, and merge duplicate venues in your Culinary Vault.

Version 2.1 — Find your next table
Release • 22 October 2026

New for everyone

Discover great places near you, share better-looking verdicts and keep your Culinary Vault tidy.

  • Find your next table. See restaurants within 200 m of you, search by name or address, or drop your own pin on the map.
  • Gold Verdict Cards. Share a single dish or a whole visit. Pick the cover dish and preview the card before you send it.
  • Your maps, your privacy. Keep venue links in your chat messages only, and choose Apple Maps or Google Maps for directions.
  • A tidier Culinary Vault. When two venues share a name, choose Same Place or New Spot. Long-press a venue to merge duplicates, and every dish and visit comes along.

Even better with Foodie

  • Clean Gold Cards. No footer, no watermark.
  • Gold Receipts and Dining Reports. Full multi-course tasting strips and detailed reports of every visit.
  • Nothing in your way. No screens between you and your share, and unlimited saves to your Culinary Vault.

Available on the App Store from 22 October.

Version 2.0 — The Visit-Based Dining Journal
Major Release • September 2026

1. A New Dedicated Home Experience

A refined home screen opens the app with our plate-and-compass illustration, quick-actions, and collection counter.

  • Direct Navigation: Clean two-button focus for Log a Meal and Culinary Vault without bottom-tab clutter.
  • Active Visit Persistence: When a visit is in progress, Home displays the venue, saved course count, and direct actions to Resume Visit or Wrap Up.
  • Zero Discard on Backgrounding: Returning home or switching apps never drops an active plate in progress.

2. An Intentional Meal Journey: Venue → Capture → Rate → Act

Capture dishes in sequence with real table context.

  • Smart Venue Match & Pins: Suggests nearby establishments on first capture with optional Apple Maps pin or custom venue entry.
  • The Grading Arena & Table Whisper: Prominent dish naming with our new optional Table Whisper field for rapid personal sensory notes.
  • Action & Save: Post-rating control center to edit, log the next course, wrap up, or dispatch social exports.

3. Full Visit Lifecycle & S·A·V Wrap Up

A meal now has a beginning, a collection of plates, and a deliberate conclusion.

  • Preserved Table Context: Log Next Dish keeps the table and restaurant locked; New Table starts fresh.
  • Service, Ambience & Vibe (S·A·V): Wrap up with optional S·A·V scoring weighted at 80/20, 60/40, 50/50, or 100/0 against food consensus.

4. Redesigned Two-Tier Culinary Vault

Browse your dining archive structured cleanly by Restaurant → Visit → Dishes.

  • Dated Visit Sections: Visits start collapsed for effortless scrolling, displaying dish counts, consensus badges, and S·A·V breakdown.
  • Memory Preservation: Historical single-dish saves remain untouched without fabricating synthetic past visits.

5. Expanded Social Card & Tasting Menu Exports

Four distinct ways to export a course or an entire culinary evening:

  • Branded Foodie Capture: Full-bleed plate photography with stacked initial/score diner badges and gold score ring.
  • Table Verdict Card: Dark-and-gold portrait scorecard showing restaurant, plate consensus, and diner verdicts.
  • Detailed Dining Report: High-resolution editorial card featuring dish photo, Table Whisper note, full diner breakdown, and S·A·V visit stats.
  • The Gold Receipt · Tasting Menu: Continuous vertical tasting strip laying out courses in order, note excerpts, and standout course summary.

6. Global Language & Performance Polish

  • Full interface and export copy localized in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
  • Optimized 1170px high-density 3× image exports with WhatsApp HD compatibility reminders.
